My Kind of Music

I am the kind of person that remembers lyrics like crazy. If you put on a song I haven't heard since I was four, I can still sing right along with out missing a note. I memorize lyrics as naturally as breathing. I don't think about it; I just internalize them.

This trait of mine makes it hard for me to find music I enjoy listening to. I don't like the lyrics of many pop songs, and I don't agree with the views than many composers express. I can't just ignore things like this because when I sing them, they become a part of me.

I am pretty picky about what I allow myself to absorb because I realize that what I expose myself to is dirrectly related to what I will produce. I don't want my life to look like a Ke$hia song, so I don't listen to her.

I explained all this just to be able to say that I've found an artist that I absolutely love! Brooke Fraiser is her name. She has several albums, and I have been slightly obsessed with her for a while now. I really like her style, and the lyrics to her songs allow me to relax and just enjoy. You should check her out! She is amazing.

I especially like her song Deciphering Me.
