Destination: JAPAN

As the semester begins to wind up, I'm already thinking about summer break and what I'll be doing in a month or so. I've had an opportunity come up that is so CRAZY it must be God, and I thought I'd share with you guys what I'm going to be doing this summer!

     Just a little review:
Last summer I went to Swaziland, Africa, with my youth group, family, and band. Already feeling called to missions, I came back from Africa pumped up and ready to go. In my mind I was already there, serving in anyway needed. I was already looking forward to going back this summer. When Heart for Africa (the orgainization I travelled with) openned up internships I was sooo excited to appy for one. You had to be 18, but they were willing to give me a shot anyways. I worked really hard on the application and was about to send it in when.... my parents pulled the parent card.

Sometimes I forget that I am 17, I don't have a job, and I still follow my parents rules (even though I don't live at home.) Anyways, my application never got turned it, and I was very dissappointed that Africa for this summer was looking like less and less of a reality. My parents told me I could not go because they realize I need to do some job shadowing this summer because I'll be applying to colleges in the Fall and I need to know what I want to major in. I get it. I respect that, and I understand the importance. But I was still really sad about the whole Africa thing. BUT....

God had something planned that I couldn't begin to see coming.
(btw that's a reoccurring theme in my life)

My sister, Emily, and I have been asked to spend a month in JAPAN this summer to share about our trip with Heart For Africa!!! How cool is that?!? I have never been to Japan, I don't speak Japanese, and I don't have any idea what to expect. Still, How cool is that?!?! Japan is far away, and Em and I will be traveling by ourselves to meet people we don't know. It's a little intimidating! However, I'm up for it!! God works in ways we do NOT expect. Also, I have always wanted to be ninja.... and we'll be taking karate lessons!!! THAT'S WHAT'S UP.

We will be gone for the month of June, and please keep us in your prayers! I'm sure you will hear much more as the trip gets closer.

Andddd, that's a Word for Wednesday?...Maybe just some news for Wednesday :)
